What the 4th of July Means to Dovetail Orthopedics
As fireworks light the sky this Independence Day, we’re reflecting on something deeper than just a summer celebration. At Dovetail Orthopedics, the 4th of July reminds us how fortunate we are—not just as professionals, but as people—living in a country where opportunity, freedom, and innovation make healing possible. The work we do every day, from surgical interventions to patient education, is only possible because of the freedoms and foundations built into the American experience. We’re especially grateful that the next generation will inherit these same opportunities to learn, grow, and give back. That’s something worth celebrating.
Honoring the Medical Legacy That Made Our Practice Possible
The freedom to study medicine, conduct research, open clinics, and deliver care is truly an American opportunity. At Dovetail Orthopedics, we stand on the shoulders of those who came before us—researchers, physicians, professors, and public health leaders who laid the groundwork for the medical education and infrastructure we now benefit from.
Institutions like the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) have created a pipeline of innovation and collaboration that we’re proud to participate in. Every conference, surgical training, and peer-reviewed publication gives us tools to serve our patients more effectively.
We don’t just preserve tradition—we advance it. Our team continuously seeks out new knowledge, participates in specialized training, and shares insights with one another. That cycle of learning and teaching is what keeps Dovetail sharp, relevant, and ready for the next challenge. It’s not just about medical excellence. It’s about using our freedoms to do something meaningful for our neighbors.

Training the Next Generation of Healthcare Leaders
One of the freedoms we cherish most is the ability to pass on what we know. Our internship program is a key part of that mission—an opportunity for students to learn not only about healthcare, but about what it takes to build and run a modern orthopedic practice.
This summer, we’re thrilled to welcome Nate Haracz, our newest intern. Nate is a business major who’s eager to understand how community outreach, marketing, and clinical partnerships come together in a thriving medical office. His work supports our goal of making care more accessible and patient-focused, while also deepening his own understanding of how business and medicine intersect.
By mentoring future leaders like Nate, we’re investing in more than our practice—we’re investing in the future of healthcare. It’s a reminder that freedom isn’t just about what we can do now. It’s about what we can help others do tomorrow.
A Country Built on Freedom and Opportunity
At its core, this country is a place where people can pursue their purpose. That’s not just rhetoric—it’s reality. At Dovetail Orthopedics, we’ve built a practice centered around service, progress, and community. And we’ve done it because this country allows it.
Where else could a team of orthopedic specialists build relationships with school systems, launch surgical innovations, and support athletic programs across rural and suburban counties—all while running a private practice rooted in patient-first values?
We don’t take that for granted. From the ability to open new clinics in underserved regions to the freedom to develop new orthopedic tools and techniques, our growth is only possible because of what America makes room for: ingenuity, autonomy, and service.
Take a Moment to Reflect This 4th of July
This Independence Day, between the cookouts and the fireworks, we invite you to pause.
Reflect on what it means to live in a country that allows ideas to become action—and care to become a calling. Reflect on the sacrifices made by those who served, fought, taught, and healed before us. And reflect on how you might pay it forward—whether it’s through community service, mentorship, or simply taking care of the people around you.
At Dovetail Orthopedics, we’ll be doing the same.
From our team to yours, Happy 4th of July.
